Educational and Outreach Programs
Plein sud’s educational programs are designed for audiences of all backgrounds and ages. As part of an approach to make art accessible and raise public awareness, the activities offered to school or community groups, families, and the general public engage reflection, participation, creativity, and learning. They promote appreciation of current and contemporary art as well as a better understanding of its artistic forms, with the aim of extending participants’ experience well beyond the duration of the activity.
Educational Mandate
Participation in educational and cultural activities at Plein sud, a museum institution dedicated to the dissemination of current art, fosters a privileged and direct relationship with the artwork, the artist, and the creative process. Plein sud’s educational objectives are distinguished by the valorization of personal experiences in which each person can experience and appropriate knowledge at their own personal pace and according to their interests, knowledge, and own will. In this sense, Plein sud’s role is defined as that of a transmitter of alternative knowledge and know-how in service of the community and the personal, cultural, and social development of the people who compose it.
The fulfillment of Plein sud’s educational mandate aims to enrich the public’s experience, build cultural knowledge, and develop a critical and aesthetic sense, transforming the perception and understanding of issues – whether social or otherwise – in today’s world as expressed by artists, whose approach Plein sud values within the framework of its programming and educational activities.
